It’s amazing how quickly time can go when you’re up against the deadline of the NPTE. Then, ironically, time slows waaaay down, making the 5 business days until you get your score agonizingly slow! And then, if that wasn’t bad enough, some states don’t disclose the scores until 10 business days.
Ouch!
I’ve been getting tons of emails these last few days from students who took the NPTE last week. For me, this is a time of pretty high highs and low lows.
My favorite thing ever is helping someone pass the NPTE, especially when they struggle with standardized testing.
One of my favorite stories in the last few days is the saga of a M.A., a 64-year-old PT who is returning to the field after a 17-year break.
Hey, Will
Just got the results of my exam. And…. I PASSED!
I owe you a big part of this achievement.
Your PT FINAL EXAM gave me the North needed to tackle this task.
Even though I graduated and worked in the US for many years, in all PT settings, I was out of the US for 17 years when I decided to challenge myself again.
Note that my PT class was the LAST BS program in NJ. So, not only was I NOT DPT, but also I am sure I am the only 64 y.o PT to take your course and pass the test.
I failed the January test (way far behind),and failed again in April after taking PTFE. You kindly let me continue to access the webinars, which I did over and over again besides doubling up my study hours.
I still cannot believe I did it! This was by far the most difficult test of all 3. I had to do a lot of thinking and problem solving, besides relying on a 64 yo memory. (I even thought about giving up in the middle of the test!)
I kept hearing all of your voices in my head – Don’t give up!- and I plowed thru.
Well, the way I see it, this is not only my achievement. PTFE has a huge part on it!
Thanks, thanks, thank you!!!!
Honestly, this is one of the highlights of my year! I LOVE my job–PT by day, Coach by night.
