AZ Student ConclaveHey everybody,

I thought I’d put up a quick post to tell you about some of the new and exciting things that I’ve been up to in the recent months.  I just wrapped up another awesome Mastermind Study Course with some very bright and talented students who are preparing for the April 2016 NPTE.  Honestly, I get the biggest kick out of teaching, and I feel pretty good at the end of the day when I see that I’ve really helped someone pass the NPTE.

In addition to my normal online activity, I’ve made a resolution that for 2016, I’m going to follow the advice of Pat Flynn and “Be Everywhere.”  This includes attending live events such as student conclaves.

Arizona Student Conclave

As I write this post, I am hanging out in the classrooms of Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ at the Arizona Student Conclave #AZSC2016.  It has been a blast getting to know PT students from several of Arizona’s awesome PT programs and hearing their stories.  Most that I have chatted with have been 1st or 2nd year students, only dreaming of the not-so-distant day when they’ll have to prepare for the NPTE.  The good news is that most students have already started formulating a plan of attack for the NPTE.

Among the several themes that came up today, here are some general thoughts:

  • Question: I’m a 1st year…how do I prepare now for the NPTE?
    • Answer: The biggest key is to not forget anything J.  As you go through your schooling, make sure that you are taking the time to really learn and apply the material that you are studying.  I highly recommend making a detailed outline of notes using my free Study Outline as a resource and framework.  This will help you make sure that you haven’t left anything out of your studies.
  • Question: How long before the NPTE should I begin actively studying?
    • Answer: If you’ve done your work in PT school, you will likely need just a brush-up review in the final weeks before the exam.  I recommend you begin your active studies 8-12 weeks before the test date.  Obviously, if you feel that you are lacking in certain content areas or if you’ve been out of school for a few years, this time will need to increase proportionately.
  • Question: When is the ideal time to take the PT Final Exam Prep Course?
    • Answer: For the best results, you need to take it at least 8 weeks before your test date.  For those that are taking the July 2016 NPTE, you’ll want to sign up for the course that begins on May 21 (8 weeks before the exam).

California Student Conclave

I’ll be headed to San Diego next week for their big CA student conclave at San Diego Mesa College.  I’m super stoked to meet more students and get the word out about PT Final Exam.  I was also the sponsor for the badge lanyard, so watch for those.

At each of these, I’m giving away lots of freebies for exam preparation.  You will definitely want to swing by the table and let me know how I can help you best!  I’ve gotten some great input from students, and I sincerely hope to continue to become the most awesome NPTE prep source available!

As always, keep up the hard work!  You can totally do this!
